The day will consist of a hands-on brew day whereby you will be involved with all aspects of brewing, fully guided by our Gyle 59 brewer. A full explanation will be given surrounding ingredients included, techniques, the process and theory of brewing beer. Handouts will be available for your portfolio, along with suggestions for further reading and an idea of equipment needed and where to buy it.

You can also get involved with a beer tasting and food pairing led by Beer Sommlier in training Amanda, followed by a delicious lunch of tapas-style food. Teas and coffees will be available throughout the day.

By the end of the day you should achieve knowledge and experience of: -

  • The four main ingredients
  • The brewing process from mash through to pitching the yeast
  • A basic theory of what happens during brewing
  • The importance of hygiene and sterilisation
  • The basics about packaging beer
  • How to taste beer and attempt to match with food

The cost of this full brew day is £99 plus VAT (£118.80).

A 10% discount on all Gyle 59 bottled beers will be available to participants on the day.
